Blue-Blood Republicans
What exactly does this mean you may ask. Republicans have learned that playing to the left, playing a moderate stance...does not work! Whether you agree with me or not on this, the Republican party is in need of reform and dare I say in need of rebuilding...not in full mind you...but it needs work. It was abandoned by certain figures, and we are presently caught in a mess as a result of it.
However, conservatism did not lose. Conservatism was not on that ballet. Since 2001, the backbone of the Republican party has been faltering. We have an uphill battle to correct this, but make no mistake...we will correct it.
Now that America has Obama, who has that warm fuzzy feeling inside? Are the birds singing louder? Have all dark clouds finally dissipated? Has spring taken the place of cold winters now?
"President Dmitri Medvedev Orders Missiles Deployed in Europe as World Hails Obama"
"Palestinians Launch Rocket Attack into Israel as World Hails Obama"
Ah...the answer to my previous questions are an astounding no.
Obama's speech last night encompassed what he does best...saying a lot while saying nothing. And by the way, not to break anyone's heart, but that turnout wasn't record-breaking.
My favorite part of Obama's speech was when he started to talk about all the sacrifices we were going to have to be making. As if a light bulb suddenly went off, the looks on the faces in that crowd changed. The idea that there is a tax cut that they won't get might have finally sunk in.
Let me quickly address something important. And if you have the patience to read this, you deserve the brilliance I'm about to bestow upon you. Obama is lowering the expectations. He is lowering what people should be expecting of him. Obama has realized that people have really bought into this "change, "hope," "miracle" ideal, and now he is covering his bases. A few days prior to the election, he began to say that 4 years may not be enough to make all the changes he promised. You heard it from me, and mark my words...you'll hear more of this in the coming months.
You know what grinds my gears? Obama.
You know what really grinds my gears? Turncoat Republicans.
I wish to move us away from the Obama issue momentarily, and focus specifically on the Republican Party. It is my belief some of us are missing the bigger picture. The staffers of the McCain campaign and other similar so-called "Republicans" are beginning to show, through the media, their true blue-color blood. Say what you want about Obama, but to me, given the Nation's current situation, nothing worse right now than a blue-blood Republican. Our party is in a circular firing squad and I believe this needs to be addressed.
Let me quickly describe to you what is going on here. Members of our own party, specifically McCain staffers, are leaking false information to what is called the Drive By Media. Instead of listing a few quotes, I'll copy and paste for you an excerpt from a Fox News report delivered by the name of Carl Cameron:
"Early on, they began to discover that there were these gaps in her knowledge. I just want to rattle off a couple of the things that insiders say she just simply didn't know. There were real problems with basic civics, government structures; municipal state and federal government responsibilities. She didn't know the nations involved in the North American Free Trade Agreement, we're told. She didn't understand, McCain aides told me today, that Africa was a continent and not a country, and actually asked them -- they argue, they say -- if South Africa wasn't just part of the country as opposed to a country in the continent. They go on to say that she didn't understand the idea of American exceptionalism, a classic principle of Wilsonian doctrine that says that the United States is exceptional in the world and has therefore a very special role in leading the globe."
Now, I'm a supporter of Sarah Palin. I believe her to be a ray of sunshine in what would have otherwise have been a abysmal and flat race. Everything in this excerpt, as well as other unlisted accusations, are false and nothing short of a lie. In my eyes, the McCain staffers spreading this garbage are no longer members of our party nor do I even want them in our circle...for all I care, they can go dance in the gardens with the rest of Obama supporting leftists.
By the way, this is Palin's response to the allegations:
"That's kind of a small, evidently bitter type of person who would anonymously charge something foolish like that that I perhaps didn't know an answer to a question. So until I know who -- who is talking about it, I won't have a comment on false allegations."
We need to ask ourselves, what do they hope to gain from slanting Palin like this? What's in it for them? The answer is quite clear, they hope not to see Sarah Palin rise to power. They don't want to see Palin come to lead the Republican Party. And to reference something I mentioned in my first post, conservatism was not on the ballet in this past election. Mr. McCain, where are you!?!? A true Republican would stand up to this. This is a clear reason as to why I do not believe McCain to have been a proper conservative representative. These staffers are attempting to destroy their own Vice-Presidential nominee, and it is sickening.
If you're on the fence with this, let me explain my point in a different way. It makes no sense to spread this kind of information, in the manner that they did, unless it was a lie. Why not go on camera with Cameron? Why not put your face and name together with the words coming out of your mouth? Someone was too scared. Someone knew it wasn't true. And when someone says something like this which is not true...you get fired and your reputation turns to crap. The McCain staffers are trying to cover their own butts. And you know why? Because they're failures.
We currently fight two things. Obama and our own party establishment. All things will work out, put your trust in that. We got a good farm-team, but while we develop it, America can have the President they so desperately wanted (which wasn't by much, 53% to 47%). I still believe this country to be center right and NOT center left. Let them realize how wrong they were in electing this man for President. It's the only way stupid people will learn.

A Young Republican on the Record: Two Quick and Poignant Issues
Let's cut the bull. Better yet, let's just have some "straight talk." Years of planning, months of debating, and hours upon hours of prepping by each of our candidates will lead us all to one inevitable spot...the voting booth. The theoretical place where an American citizen can cast one vote to help change his/her country, and push it in the right direction.
But wait! Folks, we have a problem. And no Mr. Biden, it's not about your 3 letter word, J-O-B-S. This is about my 4 letter word, F-R-A-U-D. Our tale begins with Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn). It is undisputable that Acorn is 100% guilty of voter registration fraud, and while this organization has based itself in some very key swing states, we will for the sake of this article only focus on that which took place in Ohio.
According to the Help America Vote Act of 2002, states are required to compare information contained on voter registration applications in state databases in order to confirm that it is an accurate and valid registration. Now, the Ohio Secretary of State (Jennifer Brunner), claims she has been "performing" these confirmations, but shockingly, will not share the information with election boards whether locally or publicly. And just to set the record straight, in court, withholding of such information is considered criminal.
Of course, Brunner has a rebuttal, claiming that she did not have time to prepare to validate these registrations. Unfortunately, this is not a new law...therefore a law she should have known about (at least, we assume she would have known, if she were a responsible Secretary of State) long prior to this incident. This is not only a clear protection of Acorn, but of fraudulent votes that could potentially sway the outcome of this race.
According to a recent poll, 60% thinking voter fraud is "very" likely, 28% believing it to be "somewhat" likely, and 32% believing fraud will transpire in a general sense, leaving a final 35% believing it is unlikely.
Issue #2, Taxes
Obama has a magical figure, and that figure is $250,000. He has been quoted as saying this according to a CNN transcript:
"Only a few percent of small businesses make more than $250,000 a year, so the vast majority of small businesses would get a tax cut under my plan."
The U.S. Small Business Administration defines a small business according to its average annual receipts or its number of employees.
What does this mean? Let me explain in the most simple of terms. If you work at a business, and there are five of you, each being paid $50,000, you are within the $250,000 range. If there are four of you working at a small business, two being paid $50,000 and two being paid $75,000, you are once again in the $250,000 range.
So Obama says most small businesses don't earn $250,000. Implementing what we now know about the SBA, lets look at some examples of businesses that fall under the definition:
Crop Production of all Types- $750,000
Animal Production (except for cattle, chicken and eggs)- $750,000
Cattle Feed Lots- $2.5 Million
Chicken and Egg Production- $12.5 million
Forestry and Logging- $7 million
Fishing- $4 million
Irrigation Sewage and Water Supply- $7 million
Housing Construction- $33.5 million
Car Dealers- $23 and $29 million
RV, Motorcycle, & boat dealers- $7 million
Furniture, Hardware, Clothing & Sporting Good Stores- $7 m
Mom and Pop Electronics- $7 million
Supermarkets, Gas Stations & Department Stores- $27 million
Pharmacies- $7 million
The list could go on...(but I believe you get the point)
Yes, you heard it here...each of these are small businesses if they make less than the listed specified amount in each industry. Guess what? 99% of small business is getting a huge tax increase.
The little guy, the guy Obama is claiming to want to protect, is the very guy getting bombarded here. Once these taxes go up, first instinct as a small business is to survive...you can't keep paying people if your taxes are going up. It prevents growth, and you are forced to lay people off. After that, quality of life diminishes visa vi individuals consuming less.
To add to this, Obama wants to cut taxes for 95% of households, meaning only 5% would see a tax increase.
However, according to the Non-Partisan Tax Policy Center, that is not true, as a full 20% of households will see their taxes go up. This figure of 5% is purely imaginary...the result of another fabricated idea by Obama that cannot plausibly exist within the realms of reality.
On top of that, more than 1/3 of all American's pay no taxes at all. These people will virtually be receiving a welfare check, and guess who funds that check? That's correct, people earning $250,000 or more.
Crunch the numbers and we find people in the top marginal tax rate will pay 60% of their income to the government pending on where they live. Sounds exactly like "spreading the wealth" to me, also known as Socialism.
Mark my words. With Obama's tax plan, you will not be able to fund these expenses and as such, will not be receiving a tax cut, but a tax increase.
More to come...

Hats Off to Steve Irwin
2.) Steve Irwin
3.) Hotrods
Body of a Greek God
I do not believe anyone within their right mind would disagree when I say Steve Irwin kicked some serious ass. Every time I heard him say the word "Crikey!" I gave a little chuckle. Now, we have lost a wildlife icon but I think the more important issue is that he has left behind a wife and kids. To them, I believe we all send our regards. Usually when you watch television, you say to yourself, "this guys full of crap, he's just reading the script." That was not the case with Steve Irwin, he knew his stuff. That guy knew more about animals than I could ever hope (or probably want to). That kind of intelligence is rare in today’s moronic society.
I've read a few articles, watched a few video's and one thing that keeps being mentioned which drives me crazy is how people say, "he died doing what he loved." What exactly are they implying? That he enjoyed having a stingray's barb stuck in his chest? Point is, this is a damn tragedy...its like finding out Santa was made up. I can promise you that the world will not see another Steve Irwin. He was Animal Planet. While a death by a stingray's barb is rare, there was nothing "average" about Steve Irwin. He had a talent to make people watch something they probably never thought about before, something they never knew existed and in the end...he somehow made them care. His talents were only outmatched by his humorous native Australian personality. So I say hats off to Steve Irwin and best wishes to his family, he will be dearly missed.

Battle of the Discs

Walk into the nearest Wall-Mart and you can probably find a solid DVD player for roughly 50 bucks. Look around some more and you will find a bin with movies in it for only 5.50 each. Well, just when you thought all was looking good, technology seems to have once again stepped in to reveal why everything you currently own is shit and what you need to buy is the best. DVD movies are now being replicated on two types of discs, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. These disks promise better viewing experience and according to PC Magazine, can hold more data. These movies sell from anywhere between 20-35 dollars. The players were expected to run around 1,000 dollars upon debut. No worries though, that number will undoubtedly drop relatively quick within the next few months, especially with the PS3 coming this Christmas.
Before you walk out that door to get one, there is a catch. Movie companies must sign a deal which will decide whether their movie will be converted to Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. In other words, having a Blu-Ray DVD player is fine and dandy but if the movie you want to watch is on a HD-DVD...well...your out of luck. Right now it appears like Blu-Ray is taking over the scene with its high storage capability and more importantly, thinner design. This will make them in time cheaper to buy/copy/reproduce. Its important to understand however that the main reason why this is happening is not so much because of the DVD industry but because of televisions. Flat screen plasma and LCD screens have caused this push. Screens are becoming bigger/sharper and ultimately more expensive. Of all the flat screens I have, I can honestly say one more would never hurt. In time we're going to just have to see which disc can pull on top. Until then, I'm gona kick back with my coke and continue to buy my movies for a mere 15 dollars.

Pulse Review
"High speed data transfers, super wide-band, wifi--this is the wireless landscape. Huge volumes of information are traveling through the air. As we continue to explore these frequencies, we expose ourselves to realms we didn't even know existed. We only fear what we can touch, hear, see or taste, but there is potentially so much more out there. What if our wireless technologies made a connection to a world beyond our own? What if, when you turn on your cell phone or log on to your email, you exposed yourself to forces beyond your worst fears? What if every connection = infection?" Courtesy of www.RaveMotionPictures.com
I realize every film is dictated primarily on the culture which creates it and Pulse is no exception. It seems to have connections to the overall disconnected and somewhat depressed Japanese culture. Nevertheless, the movie aired in Japan around 2001 and seemingly had great success. If you’re looking for something to do on a Friday or Saturday night, check out Pulse. It’s definitely worth your five or six bucks.

Mountains Beyond Mountains

I recently finished a non-fiction work titled Mountains Beyond Mountains. While I usually pick a fiction work over non-fiction, a change of pace is nice every now and then. The book is about a Doctor Paul Farmer whose mission is to bring medical aid to impoverished countries. He stands on the belief that nobody should be denied medical treatment, no matter how poor. His practices have shown the world that while poverty is a challenging issue, there are indeed steps we can take to help improve the conditions. I believe this excerpt from the book exemplifies his impact on the medical community.
"I once heard Farmer say that he hoped a day would come when he could do a good job just by showing up. It seems to me that time has already arrived. A great deal of what he's started goes on without him now, in Roxbury and Tomsk and Peru and, some of the year, in Haiti. Meanwhile, other definitions than the usual, of what can be done and what is reasonable to do in medicine and public health, have spread from him. They're still spreading, like ripples in a pond."
The author, who was with Doctor Farmer during most of his treatments of patients and flights across the world, narrates the story for the reader. Once finished, I became an immediate fan. Whether you are pursuing a future in the medical field or not is irrelevant, this is a book that should be read by everyone. In early November, I will have a chance to talk with the author and will be posting a follow up article. So if you're looking for a work, check out Mountains Beyond Mountains. It will possibly open your eyes to a world outside of your own.
